A handmade abstract paper mache bust sculpture. I hand sculpted this piece from a papier mache pulp of salvaged papers, then painted it in copper and midnight blue tones to emulate a patinaed metal. I love mimicking other materials in papier mache, especially when I can surprise people when they find out it's paper!
This piece was inspired by similarities I observed in African and Cycladic Greek sculptures. I admire the modern lines found in some of the ancient sculpture of both of these cultures. Arrives packaged for gifting, perfect for yourself or someone else.
This piece is unique in that I've added weight to it. Most of my papier mache pieces are relatively lightweight, but this piece was sculpted over an empty paint bottle filled with sand to give it weight. It is a little over 1 lb.
