A rustic decorative white and gold pedestal, handmade from salvaged paper. A unique piece in papier mache, built around a wooden spindle. Embellished on the sides with the three monkeys (hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil) sculpted in paper, so no one has to know how many cookies or cupcakes, or candies you, er, sampled. Elegant bronze flower tacks around the edge of the imperfect (but stable) round platter top contrast nicely from the distressed, white wash effect, and add the perfect finishing touch.
Wikipedia: "The three monkeys are Mizaru, covering his eyes, who sees no evil; Kikazaru, covering his ears, who hears no evil; and Iwazaru, covering his mouth, who speaks no evil. Together they embody the proverbial principle to "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil".
Use this handsome piece to display/hold a variety of things, from decorative fruit to jewelry. It can even be used to serve cookies or desserts (use of a plate, napkin, or doily is recommended to protect the surface). Maximum weight recommended on this piece is 3lbs. Placing anything heavier on this piece could cause damage.
Finished with several layers of sealant for moisture resistance and durability. Intended for light use and decor. May be wiped clean with a damp cloth. NOT dishwasher safe.
