Abstract Salvaged Paper Sculpture in a Gold Wooden Shadowbox: Fixtures Series, #3

A gold wooden shadowbox that features salvaged paper sculpture. Part of a series of hand painted shadow boxes containing abstract forms inspired by body adornments of cultures around the world. The abstract paddle shape inside is sculpted in a papier mache pulp of salvaged paper, then painted and finished for an artifact vibe. Ready to hang using hardware attached. This piece is part of my "Fixtures" series- check back soon for more.

Colors: bright metallic gold, rustic brass, dark metallic brown, assorted browns, tans
Measurements: approximately 5.5in x 5.5in x 1.5in (14cm x 14cm x 4cm)

The illustrated images in the background are from Ger Daniels' book, "Folk Jewelry of the World". A great book, which I highly recommend!

Recycling and conservation is important to me. Unless otherwise indicated, ALL of my papier mache items are made from recycled paper and other reclaimed materials, not preshredded storebought mache.
