Giraffe Figurine, Paper Mache Recycled Art Toy Sculpture: Cecile

An original paper mache recycled art toy giraffe sculpture. This is a piece completely handmade by me from recycled materials. Cecile the giraffe was created by building papier mache around a wire form that I sculpted. Finished with intricate detail in oil (for a beautiful texture) and acrylic paint, and many other loving touches. I handpainted each spot, and finished him/her (you decide!) off with a heart tattoo that says "wild thing". Cecile has a beautiful purple saddle and wears a bright green scarf that I knitted. The scarf is embellished with a miniture version of my handformed wire scarf pins with one of my handmade paper beads. Cecile also features a recycled suede cord tail and dimensional eyelashes. Attached to a salvaged MDF base to which I added shiny wood wheels. I painted the wheels with dimensional paint to look like treads. This piece does roll, but is meant for decor, not play. Not recommended for children. I really enjoyed creating every detail of this one of a kind piece- I hope you like it!

Papier mache can be a tough, yet lightweight material. This piece won't shatter if dropped, but can be chipped, scuffed, or otherwise damaged if abused!

Recycling and conservation is important to me. Unless otherwise indicated, ALL of my papier mache items are made from recycled paper and other reclaimed materials, not preshredded storebought mache.
