A vase hand sculpted in salvaged paper. A paper mache form featuring asian inspired accents. Pages salvaged from a book on Chinese medicine and a single handmade wire *handle evoke the feel of an artifact. Embellished with painted stitches and deep red cord to complete the look.
*The handle on this piece is decorative only and does not function.
This vase is special because it is sculpted over a salvaged plastic shell, to create a piece that can hold water, despite being made of paper. A part of my JAW (just add water) collection, this piece is suitable for wet use and shatterproof. Makes a beautiful decorative holder for your favorite diffuser oil and reeds, too! Papier maché is a tough, yet lightweight material. Though it won't shatter if dropped, it can be chipped, scuffed, or otherwise damaged if abused. Guard against heavy weights and excessive moisture. Finished with several layers of matte varnish. Intended for light use and decor. Not food safe. Wipe clean with a damp cloth.
*This listing is for the tall vase only. Other items shown (including my hand) are for example only/ not included.
*Interested in personalization? I can make it happen! I can hand letter your inscription onto this piece. Contact me with your request
here.
*Not for use with flame or wicks of any kind.
Colors: brown, antique white, rustic black, deep red
Measures: approx. 7 in h x 3.5 in w (17.75 cm x 9cm)
Recycling and conservation are important to me. Unless otherwise indicated, ALL of my papier mache items are made from recycled paper and other reclaimed materials, not pre-shredded storebought mache.
